Seller lied when I asked about the item condition via PM to force the sale
Summary: procarbon74 shared their experience with a seller on eBay who misrepresented the condition of a car tyre. Despite assurances that the tyre was defect-free, it was damaged and required replacement, costing the buyer £305. The seller was unresponsive, prompting procarbon74 to seek advice on how to contact eBay for assistance. tommystrezures suggested using eBay's money back guarantee if the purchase was within 30 days or contacting the payment provider if within 120 days.
Hi, eBay Community,
I came across a seller that lied to me when I asked if the item he was selling was defect free. (Evidence in our P-Messaging before I bought the car Tyre)
I couldn't check it out as I didn't have a chance until a couple weeks ago when I managed to get it fitted as my lease car was returning tot the dealership and the tyre was repaired in the side wall..
the repair was hidden making it not obvious to see.. this incurred £220 fee to replace the tyre that was damaged/repaired.. I didn't see it initially as it was masked and when my fitter did the swap with the older tyre, he did mention it to me.. Leaving me no time to find a solution. I contacted the seller and he wasn't too interested, the entire process did cost me in £305.. I contacted the seller at multiple time asking that I wanted a refund as he lied to make or force the sale.. I have all invoices showing the cost I paid when I returned the car. Can someone help me contact eBay as all options available are just based on standard filters that do not include to speak to someone..
Many thanks,
Procarbon74

Mentor2 weeks agoAre you in a position to remove and return the tyre?

Mentor2 weeks agoIF ordered within the last 30 days then use the eBay money back gaurantee, item not as described.
If outside this period your payment provider may be able to help. (as long as upto 120 days since purchase)
I really don't get why people with this sort of item eg a tyre for your car to ensure safety etc buy from ebay?
