Seller ignoring my messages regarding warranty on phones
Summary: ang1985_123 shared their experience with purchasing two defective Samsung handsets from a seller, noting issues like a swollen battery and reboot loops. Despite the products being under warranty, the seller has not responded to their attempts for a resolution. ang1985_123 mentioned issues with pursuing a claim through their credit card due to the purchase being made via eBay. *vyolla* suggested seeking legal advice from consumer groups or Citizens Advice. ang1985_123 expressed a desire to leave feedback for the seller but is unable due to the time elapsed.
I bought two samsung handsets from Gadgetmarkt in Nov last year and have been attempting to contact them since Aug in regards to faults that both phones have developed. One has a swollen battery which is pretty bad and one gets stuck in reboot loops. The seller has made no attempt to reply to me to offer any assistance or advice on replacement or repair . They were sold with a 12 month warranty. I paid with credit card but they are refusing to assist since its through ebay , saying ebay took the payment not the seller directly so they cant claim using Section 75. What options do i have now other than FOS , i would like a response from the seller or to be able to warn others that they don't honour their 12 month warranty.

Mentor3 days agoThere isn't a way to pursue a refund except via a legal case now. If your seller is a UK registered business seller you may want to take some free advice from one of the online consumer groups (National Consumer Service is a good one, lots of free legal advice available there) or Citizens Advice regarding pursuing this via a legal claim.
