Seller ignoring my messages regarding a faulty battery that's still under a 4year warranty.
Summary: mw1823 is experiencing issues with a leisure battery purchased in October 2022, which is still under warranty. Despite multiple attempts, the seller is ignoring messages and insists the battery is fine, citing the appearance of a sight glass. mw1823 has also found eBay unhelpful in resolving this warranty dispute and is seeking advice on what steps to take next.
I purchased a leisure battery for my camper in October 2022 it has a 4year warranty which made me purchase this although a bit more expensive than 3yr warranty type, the problem I'm having is the battery is not holding its charge for very long at all now, it does charge up fully but there is definitely a fault with it, I've contacted the seller regarding the problem and he said the battery is fine because its showing green through the sight glass which it will when fully charged, since his reply and my dispute as to what he's said he's now ignoring all my messages and as it's still under the warranty, what can I do next as eBay themselves aren't very helpful as yet either.

Mentor3 weeks agoYou cannot report this to eBay as they do not offer warranties or guarantees on items, just that they are just as described on receipt. If they are not, a buyer has 30 days under eBay's 30 day MBG, Money Back Guarantee policy, to return the item for a full refund.
You are too late to claim a refund from eBay, but can try your payment provider, most offer a 120 day buyer protection policy.
If purchased from a registered UK business, who offered a guarantee and is now not upholding this, then turn to Citizens Advice for your next steps, if you wish to take this further.
