Seller hub tells me a sold item is ineligible to be marked as dispatched
Hi all,
I recently sold a few things, and they've all allowed me to add tracking information and mark as dispatched in my Seller Hub.
However, one item of comparable size and weight won't allow me to do either. When I click on the 'Actions' box and click 'Mark As Dispatched' it pops up and tells me that 'the selected order(s) aren't eligible for this action'. Further, if I try and add tracking information the same way, eBay freaks out and goes to their Error Code 500 page, telling me their server is down.
If I look at the other orders on the page, the action in the bubble is 'view order', whereas the action for the problem order is 'get prepaid label'. Ebay's LLM keeps telling me I should be able to mark it as dispatched from the Seller Hub or the Order Details page, but the option to 'mark as dispatched' isn't even shown on the Order Details page.
What is going on here? All orders were created in the same way, during the same period of time. In the interim, I've messaged the buyer directly with the tracking number, but I'd like to know what's happening.
Edit: I just remembered that when I messaged the buyer to give them the tracking number, I got a pop-up from eBay telling me that because I had selected Simple Delivery (I hadn't - eBay told me that's what I was using with no option to change) they would work directly with the buyer to answer any delivery related questions. Is this related to my issues?

I assume that it is the item sold at over £20 and should be posted by SD which automatically marks as dispatched and adds tracking.

Mentor6 months agoIt seems you listed with SD but bought your own postage. SD is on some of your current listings, but not all.
eBay have removed the option to change tracking number when SD is listed but not used. All you can do is message your buyer with the tracking details which you have done. If necessary you would be able to add the new number to an "Item not received" case if one was opened.
You can mark dispatched by opening the original SD label (Get prepaid label > Get prepaid label and QR code). It will remain unused and the cost will be automatically refunded to the buyer in 30 days.
That message is generic and nothing to do with what's happened. When you do use SD eBay refund the buyer for loss or damage in transit and you keep the payment.
