Seller Fees
Selling on eBay is supposedly free for private sellers. When i sold a small item recently, eBay deducted about 7% of buyer's offer without saying why.
I have tried 3 times to get a reply from eBay, but have received no satisfactory response. Any thoughts?

OP3 weeks agoSo why does ebay say the buyer pays BPF and not the seller? The write up states that selling is entirely free. it is not .

Mentor3 weeks agoWhen buyers make an offer it includes BPF, so seller gets less.
If seller makes an offer, ebay add on BPF.
It is explained in offer, but not very well.

OP3 weeks agoThe guide for seller and buyer state quite clearly that the buyer pays the BPF, not the seller. It also states that the seller will get the full offer price, without deductions.
It does not seem to work that way, thus one could say that guides are devious.

Mentor3 weeks agoThe issue is that buyers offer what they want to pay, this includes BPF.
So seller will always get net amount.
Sellers can counter offer, but many don't understand this.

You are not the only person to complain about this, but I doubt ebay will do anything.

Mentor3 weeks agoThe offer will have included the buyer protection fee paid to ebay by the buyer.
