Biggest ebay turn off that's been going on since 1995 without any comeback on auction sellers & ZERO ACTION BY EBAY
I don't usually bid on ebay auctions for this very reason BUT seen this item I really wanted & bid & increased my minimum bid as the 7 day auction progressed until..... YOU ARE THE WINNER / PAY NOW .....I was like a kid at Christmas , I got a deal of a lifetime , then 24hrs later , You have been refunded /Sale has been cancelled with no explanation , I did report the seller & left appropriate feedback BUT this has been ongoing for years the seller obviously never got what they thought the item would go for so they pull the item , I reported the seller to ebay but they are not interested in doing anything & so it continues over 30 years now !!!!!!!!!!!!! So how about feeding this information into your AI system & weeding out these fun sucking sellers asap

Mentor4 months agoWe've all been at the receiving end of non-selling sellers or non-paying buyers, and so can share your frustration. But the fact is that eBay has to take each case on its merits. Your seller has presumably received a damaging account defect for failing to honour this sale, as well as receiving your negative feedback.
If they fail to honour further sales it won't be long before eBay acts against them, but they have to keep a sense of proportion. However, it would be unrealistic to expect an immediate ban. This seller has received 131 positive feedbacks in the last 12 months, with yours being the only negative. They have also received full five stars for all detailed seller ratings.

OP4 months agoHi & thanks for the reply........... BUT re - this seller has 131 positive feedback in the last 12 months & full five stars for detailed seller ratings , As an ebay buyer & seller for over 22 years now , I'm afraid on ebay you are only as good as your last sale

Mentor4 months agoI'd say that if you receive a message from a seller refusing to honour the sale because they decided they didn't receive enough money for their item then this is one thing, but a seller just cancelling who doesn't appear to make a habit of it is something else. It may be that the item is damaged or lost and, whilst they should have politely contacted you about it, in this case they didn't. Not the worse crime in the world though, in my opinion.
Have they relisted the item, out of interest?

OP4 months agoI'm afraid in my opinion this is one of the main reasons why ebay loose buyers , it is obvious in my opinion that he pulled the item saying it was out of stock , 24hrs after a 7 day auction with no communication , agree non payment is another bug bear.........that's why I steer clear of buying & selling on auctions , no idea if it's re-listed & agree not the worst crime in the World but just seems to easy for sellers to do it without any repercussions from ebay

Mentor4 months agoIt is annoying when seller has obviously started at a low price snd not sold for a satisfactory price.
It is easy to blame the seller for being foolish and starting too low, BUT have you ever sold/ listed on ebay, Ebay come up with suggested starting prices, that are stupid, such as 99p, and should take the blame for giving very poor advice, especially to new sellers, who do not understand that it is up to them to decide the starting price as that is likely to be the selling price.

OP4 months agoThanks for your reply john1297576............As "vyolla" stated this was an experienced ebay seller with 131 positive feedback in the last 12 months ....Therefore
A) He should have listed with a higher start price or reserve if putting it on an auction
B) He was only selling 3 items at the time so could checked his item was out of stock before auction ended
C) He could have contacted me after I paid , I was not the only bidder , instead of just refunding me 24hrs later

Mentor4 months ago“left appropriate feedback”
I cannot see any appropriate feedback, see it now. Sorry further down than I thought, it should have been a negative with low star ratings. Out of stock will have given seller a defect, so will not need much more to get in depp trouble.
Star ratings are very important as they do get taken into account when ebay reviews a sellers status, getting below an average score of 4.7 on any of the four sections can get seller below standard with restrictions on selling.

Mentor4 months agoeBay will only take action if a seller makes a habit of not honouring the transaction and cancelling, each time they do this they get a defect against their selling account. It doesn't take many defects to get a selling account sanctioned.
