Seller cancelled my purchase and I lost money from hiring a man with a van
I bought a sofa from a seller. I paid for a man/van to collect. Two days before the pick up date, the seller e mailed me saying there were marks on the sofa, which he had not mentioned before, as he had listed the sofa as 'barely used'. I asked for a reduction in the sale price and pointed out I could not cancel my van man without losing the money I had paid for the driver. The seller then cancelled the sale and refunded me my money. So, I lost the money I had paid to the van man. This is morally wrong. E bay did not help in any shape or form. Where do I stand?

·11 months agoThere is no way you can claim against the seller through Ebay for the money you lost paying for a van.

·11 months agoIf it is worth it, take legal advice.
You may be able to get a free chat with a solicitor - either through Citizens Advice, via your trade union if you are in one, or even through your home insurance.
Any claim would be against the seller; Ebay is not responsible for consequential loss such as the one you have suffered.
