Seller called my personal mobile phone to extort a feedback change – how do I protect my review?
Summary: steve648536 shared an experience where a seller misused their personal phone number to pressure them into changing negative feedback for defective school supplies. The seller offered a £2 refund in exchange for altering the review and processed the refund without consent. steve648536 is determined not to change the feedback and has filed reports for feedback extortion and harassment.
Hi everyone,I have been a loyal eBay member for 24 years, and today I experienced a massive breach of privacy that has left me completely disgusted.I recently left honest negative feedback for some defective school supplies. This morning, the seller used the personal mobile phone number from my shipping details to call me directly.
They argued with me about the item and explicitly stated they would only give me a £2 refund on the guarantee that I change my negative feedback. They have since forced the £2 refund through the system, but I have absolutely no intention of changing my feedback.I know sellers often abuse automated appeals to get negative feedback wiped once a refund is issued. I have already filed two official reports against the seller for feedback extortion and off-platform harassment.
