Seller blocking return by marking it as dispatched before return label printed - No possible way to escalate with Ebay
Looking at all of the unanswered posts, and considering my giddying experience navigating Ebay to try to escalate a problem directly with them, where the seller seems to be making everything difficult with a return, starting by labelling the return as 'dispatched' when I hadn't yet printed a return label, then repeatedly sending unproductive QR codes to print return labels - how can I contact Ebay. Please, is there anyway to contact Ebay directly? I'm about Gemmini'd out.

OP1 week agoI read the three days - but they keep sending QR codes that don't work and we go nowhere. It manages to stop me from escalating, which possibly explains why they keep sending these.

Mentor1 week agoAs you do not seem to have read correct procedures, you cannot escalate (involve ebay) until AFTER a return case has been opened and seller has not responded within 3 days.
All procedures are detailed by ebay and must be followed, have you never read the money back guarantee, there is a link on every listing, right side.

Mentor1 week agoHave you actually opened a case for this item in question? If so what type of case? The system is pretty much automated so you shouldn't have to be communicating with the seller. A seller cannot mark an item as dispatched if you haven't returned it yet!!!

OP1 week agoHi, no I have not opened a case, unless you mean by starting my return procedure. I have spent a lot of time looking for links within my purchase, following AI advice, and searching for links with key words like 'Ask', 'Report', 'Escalate'. 'Ask' was found but hidden. I've tried the 'help bot' which is very limited text and shuts you down quickly. I feel this may be a case for Trading Standards. Having said that, after I contated the seller about the last QR they sent, which behaved differently and opened to a readable QR, but then sent me took me to Gemini expalining it was some sort of useless base code, the item was marked up as recieved by the seller, and that I would recieve a refund by 29th September. The item is still sitting by me. As I can't contact Ebay to advise them of this I will wait to see what happens. I will not contact the seller agian.

Mentor1 week ago · EditedYou haven't told us why you want to return this item.
If it's a change of mind return, you need to open a return request. If the seller's returns policy is to accept returns (this will be stated in the listing) eBay will require them to accept the return. UK registered business sellers are required by law and eBay to accept returns. Private sellers are not.
If the item is faulty or not as described, you need to use eBay's money back guarantee, There is a link to this in every listing. As has been said, the process is automated and there is nothing to negotiate with the seller.

Mentor1 week agoThe way to handle returns is through the ebay systems and processes, not directly with the seller. If you have not opened a returns case and are now out of time to do so, ebay can't help you.
