Seller backed out of sale
Summary: thepurplepiglet shared an experience where they purchased an item at a good price but received a refund the next day without explanation. When contacted, the seller stated they decided to keep the item. Despite reporting this to eBay for violating their selling policy, no action was taken. *vyolla* advised that leaving negative feedback is likely the only recourse as eBay can't force sellers to honor transactions.
A few weeks ago I purchased an item at a very good price. I paid for the item and received a tracking number for postage. The following day PayPal said i had received a refund. No explanation or communication for the seller. I contacted the seller via Ebay and got a short reply saying he'd decided to keep the item. I contacted Ebay to complain because my understanding is that this goes against their selling policy but I have never received any response to my complaint and the seller is still trading on Ebay. Where can I go from here?

Mentor1 month agoThere isn't anywhere to go with this, eBay can't force a seller to honour a transaction. If you've reported the seller and left a well worded negative feedback that's as much as you can do here.
