Seller agreed refund but card expired
I purchased an item 12 months ago but it's broken. I have been talking with the seller via messaging and they have agreed to refund in full so asked for payment details to make the refund.
The card I used has since expired so I'd like to provide my PayPal email address but Ebay doesn't allow that via messaging.
Can anyone please advise how best to manage this?

Mentor2 weeks agoOP their email address is there, its a gmail one. Goto the bottom of the listing. Under seller business information click the tab to the right which says seller contact information.

OP2 weeks agoYes, I've already found it and messaged him to tell him I'll contact him that way. He's said ok and will await my email.

Mentor2 weeks agoCheque would be simplest, but if a business seller their item pages would have contact details with phone number so you could probably text.
Obviously after 90 days there is no way to refund through ebay, but if business seller so easy to contact outside ebay.

OP2 weeks agoJust checked and it's just their Ltd Co registered address! Clearly they don't want to be contacted outside of Ebay messaging.
Could I hand write my PayPal email address, photograph it and send that via messaging or will Ebay pick up on that?

Isn't there a text link called 'Seller contact information' that you can click on to expand their business contact details?

Can only see a 'contact' link which sends me back to Ebay messaging.
About tab only includes Registered address, VAT no and CRN under 'Business Details'.
No text link called 'Seller Contact Info' link to expand.
I'm on my laptop rather than mobile app in case there was more info but every contact link just circled me back to Ebay messages 🙄

There's nothing untoward in this. If they're registered as a business that's the address they should give.
If they're a "proper" business i.e. not just an eBay username you should be able to search for them outside of eBay under their business name. If you try to communicate through eBay messages you risk being penalised if they catch you trying to by-pass their security systems. eBay messages are supposed to be for eBay transactions only, and a purchase 12 months ago is out of time to qualify.
As I keep reminding buyers, when things go wrong you realise that buying from unknown sellers on eBay is not like the shops.

I already tried Googling and AI'ing for them to find a phone number but all that came up was their listing on companies house. He appears to be a serial liquidator! Just found a website for them though so will try to contact him through that.

Or, are they a business seller? If so, their contact details will be on their listings.
