Seller advice needed
Hi, would really appreciate any advice/feedback to help me resolve an issue.
I sold 2 items, unfortunately buyer of ‘A’ received ‘B’ item & buyer ‘B’ received item ‘A’
after communicating with both buyers they thankfully agreed to return the items & a return label was generated via eBay.
I then paid postage to resend the correct items to both buyers ( postage purchased separately via Royal Mail website).
I agreed as a gesture of goodwill that I would refund the original postal charges to both buyers, this is what I am struggling to find out how to do. I can only see where to refund the total amount which I believe EBay can do automatically which wouldn’t be necessary in this case & need to stop this happening.
Hope all the above makes sense, it’s been an absolute nightmare & would really appreciate any advice.

Mentor7 months agoYou did the right thing by getting the buyers to return the wrong items to you, but you should have refunded and then got the buyers to buy again, possibly at reduced prices to allow for the inconvenience.
As the buyers seem to have returned the items through an ebay case for item not as described you can't stop a full refund if ebay initiates it, and a partial refund option doesn't seem to be available to you.
It is a nightmare because you are expecting more flexibility than Ebay's systems allow.
I think you may lose both items and the money, unless your buyers agree to buy again after a full refund.

Mentor7 months agoClick on each item's order details then from More Actions select Refund this item.
You then need to be careful to add the correct amount of refund you wish to make into the box, or you will refund the whole amount. Do not press reset.
You may need a laptop / PC and try Chrome here, do not use the app or mobile browser.
