Seller accepted responsibility for package gone beyond 30 day money back..
Summary: sunnyvb11 is seeking advice on obtaining a refund for a lost package from a seller who initially promised a resolution but then ceased communication. Seeking assistance from eBay is challenged by the expiration of the Money Back Guarantee period. fargvs suggests contacting the bank or card provider for a chargeback, while papso22 notes that eBay will not extend the 30-day refund period.
I am trying to chase a refund for a purchase that gone lost at the distribution hub but the seller strung me along promising it would make it. This never happened and no package arrived.
After contacting the seller again the acknowledges the lost package and commited to sending out a replacement. This took place after the end date of the Money Back Period but I was optimistic that the purchase would be resolved. However, I received no tracking details and, after asking for some, I was ghosted by the seller.
Is there something eBay can do as other buyers report similar problems. I do have the conversations on record.
Many thanks!

MentorSep 14, 2026 at 7:15 PMYou have 30 days to report an item that's not received via eBay’s Money Back Guarantee/Buyer Protection, 180 days for PayPal.
If you paid with a debit/credit card or ApplePay you have 120 days to issue a not as described chargeback.
