Scam suspected
Hi, I bought a new PS 5 Pro via auction from a seller for around £150 below retail price. It seemed like a great buy, but now that feeling too good to be true has settled. I'm not a super experienced eBay user, but the profile seemed legit at the time, although the photo of the console was just an unopened box (this should have raised some flags). It's been almost 48 hours and the buyer isn't responding or updating tracking. The delivered by date is Friday (tomorrow) and I don't see how it can arrive to me by that date. Am I better off canceling the order now or wait until Saturday and raise a not received item request ?

OP6 months agoManaged to open the case this morning and got it resolved in my favour almost immediately. Also got the bank transfer a few hours later. Seems like this guy was indeed dodgy.

Mentor6 months agoDon't take too much notice of delivery dates, they are only estimates and sometimes a tad optimistic.
Some sellers are lazy, and use stock photos not ones of the actual item, not correct, but not always a red flag.
You cannot cancel the order now, if the expected date for delivery is tomorrow it's probably too late and sellers do not have to accept cancellations.
Do not worry you are fully protected with eBay's 30 day MBG Money Back Guarantee policy if you do not receive your item or you do, and it's not as described. You open the relevant case and escalate if necessary, after 3 days.
The important thing to remember is never close any case early, on any promise or excuse the seller may make and do not forget to escalate.
