Scam?? I received a purchase offering the full asking price.
The so-called buyer wanted me to communicate with them via WhatsApp as they were too busy to keep checking eBay! A short while later, they contacted me to ask if I would buy a £400 Apple voucher, include it with the item, in return for which they would reimburse me, pay for the sale and give me £20 as a thank you.
The person told me they were living in the USA, but wanted their purchase - and the voucher - to be sent to a friend in London.
Later, I was again asked for the total amount they needed to pay, and how.
I asked only for the bid amount, £45, and declined to buy the voucher.
I have since emailed 6 times. No response.
When I checked the user details I found that the account had only been created that day, and showed that the so-called customer was UK based, and not in America.
Be wary - Very Wary....
I am now left with an accepted offer, no money and high blood pressure. Grrrrrrrrrr.....

Mentor5 months agoOP I'd rather have a bit of high blood pressure and no money for the sale rather than be ripped off for more and still have no money......
If you have a phone number you can report it too as spam by texting it too 7726 its a govt thing and 7726 on the alpha numeric keypad spells spam.

·5 months agoAs soon as a 'buyer' asks to take communications/messaging off Ebay, you stop responding to them and block their account.
Asking to exchange messages via Whatsapp is invariably the start of a scam.

Mentor5 months agoIt's a scam, anytime a voucher for hundreds of pounds is discussed on top of the item in question in a transaction, be sure it's a scam. Asking to make any of the payment outside eBay checkout is a big red flag too.

Mentor5 months agoCancel the sale after 4 days and the 'buyer' will get a strike against their account (if they've not been suspended by then) and you can relist.
Never take any communication away from the eBay messaging system you were being scammed.
