Scam concern
A Seller sent me a random wrong item so I contacted them through ebay. They are now saying I should close the case and post this item back to them and they will then send the correct item. I am worried that if I do that I will lose any protection from ebay for this purchase ? Would anyone know if this is normal or is it a scam ?

Mentor3 months agoIf you close case, it can't be reopened.
Open item not as described case, seller supplies returns label, you send back for full refund.
escalate on day 4 if no label or refund.
You can then reorder if you wish.

Mentor3 months agoAll returns must be done via eBay's returns process.
Presumably you've opened a return and selected 'wrong item received' as the reason. The ball is now in your sellers to either supply you with a pre-paid returns label or to issue a refund.
If, after 3 business days they don't do this, you'll see an option to ask eBay to step in.
Do not close that return request. It can't be re-opened if you do.
