Hi community,I want to share my recent experience to highlight the complete lack of seller protection on this platform.On December 26th, I sold a laptop to a buyer with a brand-new account created that same day. Almost immediately, they opened a return for a false reason (claiming missing original box, which was never advertised).When the return arrived, it was a classic scam: the box contained heavy cardboard and a dead battery, not the laptop I sent.I reported this immediately, expecting eBay to support me against this obvious theft. Instead, eBay closed the case in the buyer's favor instantly, with no investigation. By doing this, the platform is effectively facilitating fraud and leaving sellers with zero protection.I have now reported this incident to the Police as theft and fraud, and I have reported eBay to the authorities for failing to act on clear criminal activity.Be very careful selling high-value electronics. If a new account targets you, the system will likely side with them regardless of the evidence you provide.
