Royal mail retaining my parcel
Hello, I've had a message from Royal Mail saying they are retaining my parcel, and when I entre my postcode to get more info. it says its not the postcode they have on their records. Also it went to an an authenticator before it was sent to me.
Any idea?
Thanks

·6 months agoMy first thought is that this could be a fake message. When I worked in the Post Office, customers regularly came in because they had a message on their phone to say we had a parcel for them.
The messages usually included a link for the recipient to make a payment.
Have you made any recent purchases from Ebay that would have been sent to the authentication centre?
If you have, come back with more details for better advice.

OP6 months agoservice, but there shouldn't be a reason why Royal Mail are retaining it.
The messages I've had from them looks real to me.

·6 months agoIf they are retaining the parcel, and the delivery address is incorrect - with a different postcode to yours - the first thing I would do is check your address is correct in Ebay.
Make sure your postage address is correct and check the other addresses - there are 5 altogether.
Then, if there is not an issue with your address in Ebay, contact the seller, explain what has happened, and let them know you will be opening an 'item not received' case one day after the latest estimated delivery date.
You can find the date on the email you got from Ebay when you paid. It takes into account that the item is sent to the authenticator first.
The seller won't have your address as they didn't send directly to you and it will be up to Ebay to deal with your claim but opening an INR case should be your next step.
