Royal Mail and the ending of Adult Signed For
Summary: The discussion initiated by jonnyfy focuses on the topic of Royal Mail discontinuing its Adult Signed For service. jckl1957 responds, acknowledging the change, but details or opinions on the implications of this development are not provided in the discussion.
I recently sold an item (a set of knives) which required "Adult Signed For". When the listng was created I used Royal Mail but since then and it was sold Royal Mail has discontinued this service, Unfortunatley I did not update this listing to reflect this change so when it was sold yesterday the shipping is now £11.34 and the item was only bought for £3 . Since I used Simple Delivery the buyer has paid the original cost of shipping but that and the cost of the item are less that the £11.34 I would have to pay to post it . So do I Cancel the Order? how do I proceed, I have messaged the buyer to say it is no longer viable for me to post the item, they have not replied as yet.
Thanks in advance for any replies

·3 months agoRM have not discontinued the service.
However, you can only purchase it via a Click and Drop account.
You can sign up for a C& D account - I have one that I use a few times a year.
Prices below are for a small parcel up to 1kg - you would have to enter the weight and size for your parcel to get an accurate cost.
