Ripped off by a seller
Summary: serjeant3889 purchased car touch-up paint that arrived incorrectly mixed and faced issues with the seller after starting a return claim. The seller promised a replacement but only if the return was closed, which led to serjeant3889 not receiving any response or new item after the request was closed. *vyolla* advised that a return claim cannot be reopened once closed, and suggested considering a chargeback if purchased with a card. john1297576 recommended contacting the payment provider and leaving negative feedback to highlight the unsatisfactory transaction.
Hi,
Can someone please help me as a buyer?
I bought some car touch up paint which arrived with the wrong paint mix inside. I contacted the seller, no reply so I started a returns claim.
The seller then got in touch and said they would send another one out but please close the return request.
I should have waited for the new paint bottle to arrive before closing the return request. I assume the seller knew this as they have not sent another and they are ignoring all my messages. I cant get in touch with customer services as the return has been closed out by me and i have asked for a call back. the number rings my phone then cuts off to missed call. My phone is working ok as other people can contact me.
Any help please.
Thanks
Paul

Mentor1 month agoYou only get one case, so NEVER cancel, as you have no further action you can take through ebay.
Contact your payment provider, and eventually leave negstive feedback. Just say “unsatisfactory transaction, then no reason for removal.

Mentor1 month agoThere isn't anything you can do now via eBay if you closed the return request or left it for too long and it timed out and closed. It can't be re-opened.
If you funded the payment with a debit or credit card you have 120 days to issue a not as described chargeback, not something I would recommend if this is a low value item though.

Mentor1 month agoDid you buy this from a registered business one who is perhaps stated as a Top Rated Seller?
Then, you need to wait 7 days before leaving any negative / neutral feedback. The timeframe is to allow a busy business seller time to try and resolve the issue.
Be careful what you write too, mention nothing about refunds, cases, any eBay involvement as this breaks feedback rules, and the seller can ask for that feedback to be removed.
