Revise Listing
Summary: mgm056 is experiencing difficulty adding a photo to an auction-style eBay listing that already has bids. They are receiving an error message referencing item specifics, although these are not being altered. mgm056 attempted to resolve the issue using eBay's support but was unsuccessful. john1297576 suggested that the problem might be related to regular maintenance, implying it could resolve itself.
I have an auction-style listing which currently has bids and has more than 3 days remaining.
I am trying to add one additional photo only. I am not attempting to change the title, description, item specifics, price, duration, postage or any other listing details.
The photo uploads successfully and is visible in the “Photos & Video” section as photo 4/25. However, when I click “Revise/Save”, eBay rejects the revision with:
“Looks like something is missing or invalid. Please fix any issues and try again.”
The error points to Item specifics, but the item specifics are already populated and are locked because the listing has a bid. I am not trying to change them.
UK “Revise a listing” help page explicitly states that for an auction-style listing with more than 12 hours remaining and bids, the seller can “Add photos”.
Therefore, this appears to be a technical validation problem preventing a permitted photo-only revision.
I am caught in the usual doom loop with the automated chatbot who keeps regurgitatinG the same none relevant response.
Can someone help to either :
identify the specific validation error preventing the photo-only revision, or
How to escalate this to the technical team who can allow the photo to be added.
I do not want to end the auction, cancel bids, or create a new listing because eBay's rules say that adding photos is permitted in my circumstances.
