returning an item with no refund
i am trying to get a refund from a seller on ebay . it was defective so asked for a refund . only noted though returns not exespted from seller . so i paid alot of money for something that doesnt work & cant get refunds . tryed to report this but so far no joy . what can i do ?

Mentor1 month agoYou need to open an official 'Not as described' (faulty) case  within 30 days from item receipt through eBay (seller can't refuse same) and escalate opened case on day 4 onwards --- follow case to completion and do not close on any requests received from seller >

PLEASE just start from the beginning. You received this item
two weeks ago, but what sort of item was it and how was it defective?
Forget the seller saying they wouldn't accept a return. eBay will require them to refund for defective items. Have you read eBay's money back guarantee (there's a link to it in every listing) and did you then open an "item not as described" case? How did the seller respond to it? If they wouldn't cooperate and send you a prepaid return label, did you escalate it for eBay to step in?
Or if you did none of these things, what other actions did you take? The more information you provide, the easier it will be to help you.

OP1 month agook .ordered item around 2 weeks ago ,not realising at the time returns not excepted. unpacked item to try working it .it didnt work in my machine ,tryed 3 attempts all failed . these were dvd discs i paid good money for .so sent them back. i got all the information that sender recieved item & was told refund would be soon. heard nothing from seller & nothing more about refund . so here i am trying to get refund back . so far no joy

Mentor1 month agoALL sellers have to accept returns on not as described cases. Read the eBay money back gaurantee.

Mentor1 month agoDid you send them back after opening a case in ebay and after the seller provided a paid for return label? If so, what reason did you use for the return?

Mentor1 month agoA seller cannot refuse a return for a damaged item or one that doesn't match the description or photos.
Have you opened a return?

Mentor1 month agoYou only get one chance to open a case, so if you opened a return case, a private seller can refuse.
A seller cannot refuse a not as described return.
It does pay to read the money back guarantee for yourself rather than take notice of what you are told by ebay, as you opened the wrong sort of return.

OP1 month agook i understand that .i rarelly buy from ebay nowadays as deliverys took too long to arrive,so changed to amason . on this acassion i chose ebay as item wasnt found on amason
