Returned an item into the hands of the Evri driver… nightmare

Question

The driver, Renato, rings the bell and is halfway to his van before I open the door. I pickup the box (China teapot) and the rattling clearly tells me it’s shattered. Call Renato back and ask him to return to sender.

She now says Evri not responding. EBay proving to be useless. Evri tell me she needs to give me a refund. She can’t until the package is returned…. Aaaargghhhh!

Sorry, but you did this wrong, you shouldn't have refused parcel. You should have accepted it & then opened item not as described case. Try your payment provider.

If an item arrives damaged you must still accept it, then open an eBay return and select 'Arrived damaged' and add photos.

Then, depending if they're a private or business seller, you'll get an instant refund or your seller may issue you with a pre-paid returns label.

You won't get a refund without photos of the damaged packaging/item and must open a return.
