Return wasn’t delivered
A buyer returned a camera to me but it never arrived, eBay still refunded the buyer and now I have no camera or money. I disputed it with eBay and they said the decision was final. I’m out of pocket and it’s so unfair, eBay will not respond to my messages anymore. Please help me someone I don’t know what to do

Mentor2 weeks agoDoes the return tracking number show where the camera ended up? If its a Royal Mail label the tracking number should even show GPS co ordinates.

OP1 week agoRoyalMail tracking said it was delivered but there was no photo and nobody was home when it was delivered so couldn’t have been signed for. My question is: is it normal for eBay to side with the buyer an issue a refund without checking first? And how do I get my money or camera back. I’ve basically been robbed.

OP1 week agoI have no idea, I don’t how I’d even get the coordinates? But surely it’s the responsibility of eBay or the whoever paid for the return to show some sort of POD? Whenever I send a high value item it’s always “signed for”. I just want to know is it normal for eBay to instantly side with the buyer? And if it is what can I do next now that I have no camera or money.

Mentor1 week agoIf the label was issued through the case then it's not signed for. If tracking says delivered then ebay assume it has been and force a refund if you didn't do it. They are not siding with the buyer they are siding with the tracking, so that is normal.
You have to find evidence that RM delivered it somewhere that was not your address, but even then I am not sure what ebay will do.

Mentor1 week agoIf you put the tracking number into RMs website you can usually access some further tracking details, which often includes GPS. The only way you can move forward here is to get some evidence that it's been delivered to the wrong address.

eBay checks (or should check) the tracking record. If this confirms delivery, as far as eBay is concerned it's been delivered. The same applies to buyers.
The problem of course is that items can be delivered, left in view and stolen (this is a rising crime). Or delivered to the wrong address. However, eBay places the duty on the addressee to prove that the item was incorrectly delivered, which isn't always possible.
