Return & Refund - Seller is asking me to use a different return label than the one Ebay has supplied
I've had to initiate a return on a defective electrical item. All going fine, Ebay have supplied a return shipping label (which appears to be the seller's residential address), no apparent problem, seller is seemingly agreeable to a refund.
However I've now had a message from the seller providing a different return label (to a different, company address at a Heathrow trading estate) which they are insisting that I use instead.
My question is a simple one: does it matter which label I use? If I use the one supplied by the seller will it affect my refund if it 'goes astray'?
A bit of background: the seller represented themselves as a UK based business with UK stock but annoyingly, after the sale had gone through it soon became apparent that they'd clearly just shipped in the product they sold from China. Yes, I know from experience that such details are of little interest to Ebay, but it serves to show why I'm being perhaps overly-cautious here.
The alternate label appears to be a genuine Tracked 48 label with barcode and tracking number.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Mentor10 months agoYou use the one eBay provided.
If you use a different one there'd be no proof the item was received.
You can polite message the seller that you have to follow eBay rules and use the label they've provided.
Without sounding rude it's up to the seller then to retrieve said item , if they have their delivery / return address incorrectly registered on their eBay account.
