Return postage - buyer closed case
Summary: A discussion took place about a return postage issue where the buyer closed the case. The original post and responses from other participants simply indicated 'None,' offering no further details or context.
I sold an item on eBay clearly stating that the item alone was for sale and that no leads etc were included. On receipt the buyer insisted that the item should have come with the leads as the condition was like new, even though the listing stated it didn’t come with them.
We agreed for him/her to send the item back for a full refund and I paid postage for the return via eBay. I have not received the item back and today I got a message saying that the buyer closed the return case, which leaves me out of pocket for the return too. How can I get eBay to refund me for the post?

Don't include anything that looks like it might belong to the item and therefore be part of the sale.

Mentor5 months agoIf they opened a "not as described" return they would automatically receive a postage label paid for by you. However, if they don't use that label you are not charged for it. I take it you have not issued a refund and they have decided to keep the item.
