return and refund refused by seller
It's a long story. MY LAST MESSAGE TO EBAY:
I explain the situation. When I ordered the slippers, the estimated delivery date you gave was 9 - 11 December. This was fine for me as it was a few days before we departed for France for 5 weeks. A second mesage from ebay was given as 8-10 Dec which was still OK for me. The third message said the estimated delivery would be on 10 Dec. This was still fine as we were only leaving on Sunday 14 Dec. They were a Christmas gift for my wife. They had not arrived by the Sunday so I had changed the delivery option to "leave with a neighbour". Which Parcel Force did, as we were on our way to France, BUT after we had left for France I got a message from ebay on Tuesday 16 Dec that the slippers would be delivered that day. By which time we were in France. I have found the whole process stressful and disappointing as I was advised by eBay that the delivery would be before we left and the messages I received as above suggested that this was the case. I am told now that the return date (15 Jan) has passed but I didn't know that I needed to return them until we returned from France on 20 January. I could not avoid this as my wife had to try them on before I put any return request in. I am sure that you will understand the problem and accept that my explanation warrants a return process. Thank you. Alan Darwin
ANY SUGGESTIONS? THE SELLER OFFERED £5 ONLY AND TOLD ME TO KEEP THE SLIPPERS (NO USE AS THEY ARE TOO SMALL EVEN THOUGH THE STATED SIZE WAS CORRECT) OR GIVE THEM AWAY. i FOUND THIS UNSATISFACTORY TO SAY THE LEAST.

·6 months agoThe solutions offered by the seller are sensible options,
You are outside the time Ebay allow for returns and the seller does not have to accept a return.
I understand there was an issue with the delivery date, but this can happen, especially in December which is the busiest time of year for couriers and Royal Mail.

OP6 months agoI am sorry but I do not accept the reply. One issue was the changes of delivery date until it was too late but mainly it's the size. The slippers were listed as 6-6.5 UK size. My wife is maximum, a six, but they do not fit so not only did she nore receive her Xmas gift in time but even when they finally arrived while we were away for 4+ weeks, they were too small.
I am very diskappointed that the seller has not agreed to a return and a full refund. I have never had this issue with ebay before. Last year I had to send a Toyota car wheel back which was no trouble at all.
Thank you.

You might not accept it but ebay are not going to bend those rules for your circumstances.

I'm afraid that you have already accepted. eBay's money back guarantee only lasts for 30 days from the date of delivery. It doesn't matter what the issue is or why the delay occurred, from day 31 they will not get involved.
Like all of us, you accepted this condition in the user agreement.
