Return agreed & refund received but no return label received or available (simple delivery)
Bought something recently that has proved faulty.
The seller was fine about it, so I started a standard eBay return process.
I almost immediately received a refund, but I haven't yet received a return label, and nowhere on the return details or purchase details is there an option to print a return label.
This was "Simple Delivery" so the seller doesn't seem to be able to do anything at their end .
I'm unwilling to pay for a return and lose money thereby.
But there seems no way to resolve this short of spending hours trying to speak to an actual human at eBay.
Are there any suggestions about how to get this resolved?
thanks

Mentor5 months agoOnce seller refunded you, ebay close the case as they assume seller does not want item back.
Contact seller & explain you are happy to return item, if they supply label or money for postage.
It can't be done through ebay.

What reason did you give for the return?
The seller may have been fine about it, but returns and refunds are processed through eBay according to the reason for the return. If you returned it as faulty eBay would have required the seller to provide a prepaid return label. It sounds as though you may have made an ordinary return request, leading to it being treated as a change of mind return. In this case will be responsible for returning it at your own expense.
If you have given the incorrect reason you won't be able to change this now.

OP5 months agoOK so none of the answers given so far applies, but I do have a solution.
It wasn't damaged in transit, so that's irrelevant.
And it wasn't a "change of mind return", it was specifically a faulty goods return.
I managed to contact eBay support quite quickly (praise be) and what's actually happened is that the seller issued the refund without issuing a label, and that means so far as ebay are concerned the case is closed and nothing else can be done through ebay.
The resolution will be to contact the seller and get them to provide a return label directly to me.

Mentor5 months agoIf it was a simple delivery it may well be depending on what case you opened that eBay are responsible for the contract on postage eg if an item arrives damaged or doesn't arrive at all.
IF thats the case then eBay usually refund and you keep the item. There is no impact on the seller per se.
In the message you received from eBay it should state that you keep the item/return etc
