Return
I sold a bicycle on the 14th of January. Buyer collected, left me feedback saying “excellent”. He has now today 7th of feb requested to return the bike due to the seat being faulty although the bike was fault free when he took it. Wasnt a cheap bike, £3800. I dont want to accept it back after he has put wear and tear on it and i dont want it back now it apparently has a fault which wasnt there at the point of sale. Where do i stand?

Mentor6 months agoYou'll need to accept the return, get your bike back and then, if not in the same condition it was tcollected in, report it as damaged before a refund can be triggered.
Pop back here as soon as you have it back.

Mentor6 months agoThe feedback given after collection won't be relevant. eBay's money back guarantee gives buyers 30 days in which to open a case if they discover that an item is not as described. eBay never even sees the item and from cases reported here their policy generally seems to find in favour of the buyer.
I'm afraid you're going to have to accept the return and send the buyer a prepaid label (or arrange and pay or it to be delivered back to you).
On receipt, you might be able to appeal eBay's decision, but are unlikely to succeed if it's just a dispute about the condition of the seat. You can however report the buyer for allegedly abusing eBay's money back guarantee. My guess is that he's just changed his mind, as you don't return an expensive bike just because of the saddle; many riders prefer to fit their own anyway.

Mentor6 months agoeBay tend to side buyers. Assuming they paid via ebay and they've opened a "not as described" return it is best to accept it. Refund after return. Otherwise worst case scenario ebay force the refund but without return.
