Request Total 'NOT' showing for buyers
Hi there I am hoping someone can help me. I sell Sports and memorabilia Trading Cards and when my buyers want to by multiple cards from my different listings they are not able to REQUEST TOTAL when the items are in their cart, so I can then combine the postage for them. Instead they are having to pay extra postage costs per listing. This is affecting my sales as many want to combine but cant request a Total.
Could someone guide me through how to change a setting on my ebay so I can allow the REQUEST TOTAL to my buyers.
Thank you in advance

Mentor6 months agoAs a private seller you must use eBay's Simple Delivery postage.
Best way forward is to ask the buyer if they want to cancel their orders and have all of the cards relisted as a job lot on one listing for them to re-purchase, then there'll be only one lot of postage for them to pay.
If your buyer pays in full and you refund the postage costs for some of the orders they'll get two lots of postage back and you'll be money down because you don't receive the postage cost - it goes towards the label. If you refund the buyer it will be out of your own pocket and if you don't use the label they'll also get a refund for that.

Mentor6 months agoI agree, but this is how it works for private sellers now if you've not set up combined postage rules for your fixed price Buy It Now listings (your buyers need to add items to their basket in order for this to work too, if they pay for items separately it won't).
Moving forward, you can set postage options here:

Mentor6 months agoI understood that by placing in shopping basket buyers were able to have shipping cost combined, but ebay keeps changing rules as I do not think they have any ideas of the problems they cause.
The best way is for buyer to pay in full and you refund overpayment of postage.
Put this in the description to re-assure buyers.

OP6 months agoBecause Ebay does simple delivery that means they would have to pay the excessive postage cost and have a label created. If i was then to refund it would be out of my own pocket which i will not do.

Mentor6 months agoEasiest way is to upgrade to business seller, then you can send invoice.
With 2648 items listed, ebay and HMRC will consider you a business anyway.
