Releasing Payments after a change of courier
Hi
I had a recent order where the Royal Mail declined to accept a parcel, stating its size and weight was in excess of their limits, so I was forced to use an alternate carrier, in this case Evri but not directly through eBay.
The problem is that the item is now marked as ‘Dispatched’ under the original eBay Simply Delivery label but the Tracking Number on the listing is not the one actually attached to the parcel and I cannot update.
The new (off eBay) Tracking Number is showing as ‘Delivered’ but the actual listing remains as ‘Dispatched’, so is holding up release of payment from the eBay vault.
How can I update this situation and/or how do I get the payment released?
Thank you in advance.

You should be paid within 14 days.

OP5 months agoThank you so much for that! I saw your own post on a similar issue before I posted this one!
The other issue I now have is that I ended up paying in excess of £20 after the courier accepted the parcel and then later hit me with their own ‘oversized parcel’ fee plus the usual ‘Admin’ fee!
Its frustrating that eBay Marketplace set the postage according to the item sold and I cannot see a way of reclaiming anything, including the unused label for the original delivery attempt.
Thank you again. It is genuinely appreciated.

·5 months agoUnless you used free postage/seller pays, the buyer paid Ebay for the original postage label and Ebay will refund the buyer automatically.
Sorry it's not better news for you!

OP5 months agoAs I anticipated but it certainly isn’t good. I’ve already contacted the (excellent) buyer and suggested they reclaim their postage but as you suggest, it might be repaid automatically.
Lesson learned!
Thank you again!
