Refunding a buyer

Question

I bought a tower air fryer via eBay. After six weeks the fryer stopped working. I have been advised by eBay that I cannot have a refund of the cost because they were not advised of the failure within 30 days of purchase. The lack of logic in this excuse is obvious. Has anyone else been in this situation with eBay and ,if so, is there any action I can take?

Ebay MBG is only for 30 days, so they won't get involved.

You can still open item not as described case after 6 weeks (you won't be able to escalate case though), seller can still sort if they wish.

Or if seller not helpful, contact your payment provider

There doesn't have to be logic, just Ebay's rules.
