refund to a buyer for a item no longer aviable
I have listed an item on action, also I have described ( These stamps are also for sale elsewhere. Should a better offer be received, the auction will be closed without further explanation. A suitable offer might be accepted, resulting in the auction being terminated.) this item is no longer viable. but at the same time on eBay a buyer has paid for the stamps. I can I give the refund

Mentor2 weeks agoHave you actually sent the stamps out to the non-eBay buyer yet? If you can cancel that sale and honour the eBay sale it will be so much better for your selling account.
As pointed out by @tressygirl eBay do not like sellers backing out of deals, they consider them to be final. It undermines their selling platform so they will issue a defect.
Just for future reference, you can't invite potential buyers to view before buying either. It's not possible to exchange contact details until an item has been paid for via eBay checkout.

Mentor2 weeks agoIt is against eBay's rules to advertise your items for sale elsewhere, when they are listed on eBay.
If they are bought by an eBay buyer , but they have already been sold elsewhere, it disappoints the eBay buyer, and eBay don't take kindly to this.
Disappointed buyers do not return, if this was to happen you'd get a damaging defect on your account, for cancelling and refunding your eBay buyer for an out of stock item.
Decide which site you wish to sell those items, they can only be sold on one!

Has this already happened?
Then cancel the order citing ' Out of Stock'. This refunds the buyer and you receive a defect on your account.
It doesn't take too many defects for a Private seller to lose their selling account on eBay.
As above sell your items on eBay or elsewhere, but not in two places at the same time.
