Refund request
Hi, I'm new to selling. My first sale happened but they contacted me about getting it posted (I had listed collection only because of health issues.
I'm had communication with the buyer and have said I will send them. But a few hours later I got a message from eBay for a refund request.
I've checked my bank and eBay wallet and haven't received anything from the sale but the refund says if there isn't enough in my balance it would come out of my bank? If I do the refund will it cost me £80 (which was the list price)
I'm really confused

Mentor6 months agoMoney received will be held as you are a new seller, you will have to refund from bank account, then when money is released transfer it to your bank.
You really have no choice as if you do not do it, buyer can escalate to ebay who will refund at your expense, plus you get a defect and possible negative feedback.

OP6 months agoSo it comes from my account, but then comes back? I thought eBay was holding it and would just release it back to the buyer

So would I, which would be the common sense solution. But this is eBay.
Perhaps eBay is protecting itself in case the buyer's payment bounces, or is reversed?

Sorry for the silly questions. I have some problems understanding things, get confused

Mentor6 months agoYes, that's right. The refund comes from your bank but you keep the £80 from eBay when they release it.

Mentor6 months agoebay will take the refund from your funding source and you keep the payment when it clears.
