refund on new electrical item faulty after 5 months
Hallo. I bought an electrical item which was brand new in august 2025 and it has stopped working. Is there an ebay protocol that states that items sold as new should work for at least 12 months?

Mentor6 months agoSorry, no such protocol eBay have a 30 day MBG, Money Back Guarantee policy. Any warrant / guarantee offered by a seller, is then between you and the seller to enforce it.
You cannot report this to eBay as they do not offer warranties or guarantees on items, just that they are just as described on receipt. If they are not, a buyer has 30 days under eBay's 30 day MBG, Money Back Guarantee policy, to return the item for a full refund.
If you bought this from a Private seller you are too late to claim a refund. I think you are also out of time, but check the dates here, to claim from your payment provider, most offer a 120 day protection policy cover.
If purchased from a registered UK business, who offered a guarantee and is now not upholding this, then turn to Citizens Advice for your next steps, if you wish to take this further.
