Refund not given after 5 minutes purchased
Summary: danielmarch69 shared a challenging experience after a purchase, where they attempted to cancel an order immediately due to a payment processing issue, but the seller denied the cancellation. danielmarch69 explained their financial situation and immediate communication with the seller, but was informed by eBay that they must wait for the item to arrive to initiate a return for a refund. tressygirl confirmed that sellers can refuse cancellations and emphasized understanding the situation. tommystrezures noted the seller might be trying to protect their funds and advised caution on how to handle the return, while john1297576 suggested that the seller might not be able to refund immediately.
Hi I've just purchased an item and I cancelled straight away as I was going through the process of using klarna in three payments, but each prompt eventually took me to my bank n took full payment £300 I can't afford it in one go and so I've actioned a refund straight away ...n msgd the seller ..they denied my cancellation even though I explained everything n said I'd buy again straight after...no eBay tell me I'd have to wait for it to be delivered for me to send back for refund.... obviously going to take days n now I have no money with two kids to look after..crazy

Mentor3 months agoI think tommystrezures is correct, unless the seller has other means of refunding instantly, it is not just a matter of returning your payment. Seller might also not have £300 to pay you back.

Mentor3 months agoVery naive of the seller to refuse. However they may have done as the funds you had sent across wouldn't have cleared via the eBay system, thus they may have had to refund you from their peronsal funds. Thats not your problem per se.
Your only remit is once the item arrives is to return it. Is it a private seller or business seller, as you will have to be careful what reason you choose to return in order for it to be allowed.

Mentor3 months agoI'm very sorry , but a seller can refuse a cancellation request, nothing you can do to enforce a seller to accept it, I'm presuming you have explained the situation?
