Refund Mixup
Summary: lewlewi-dgwqltsk experienced a mix-up with a package collection by UPS, leading to an unnecessary refund to the buyer after mistakenly believing the package was stolen. They later discovered the package was indeed collected and en route to the buyer. **peaseblossom** suggested that the solution is to trust the buyer to repay through an alternative method like PayPal, as eBay can't handle such direct payments.
Hi wondering if anyone can help me with a mixup here. I sold a product and asked UPS to collect from my house. At first I don't think the driver saw the package so they put a note through saying the package wasn't collected. I think then they saw the package round the side and collected. After seeing the note and I couldn't find the package I presumed it had been stolen and decided to refund the buyer. It's now clear it was collected and is not out for delivery to the buyer but I refunded them last night. What's the best way to solve this?

Mentor1 week agoDid you use the UPS website to make the booking? IF you enter the tracking on occasion parcels can be recalled but you have to act quick, as if the parcel was collected yesterday then its more than likely out for delivery this morning.

Mentor1 week agoYou have to rely on the buyer being honest and paying again. They can't do this via ebay so would have to use something like Paypal.
