Refund marked as completed, but I haven’t received it and another £316 was charged
Summary: ntechstore shared an issue with an eBay purchase where a phone was bought for £316, and upon requesting cancellation due to the item not being as described, the refund was marked as completed. However, ntechstore noticed two pending transactions of £316 each. tressygirl explained that such errors happen occasionally, and advised that refunds can take up to 12 days for debit/bank cards and up to 30 days for credit cards to reflect in the original payment source. They also suggested that if PayPal was used, the refund should appear more swiftly.
Hi, I bought a phone for £316. Within a few minutes, I requested to cancel because the item was not as described. The seller first declined, then accepted the cancellation. eBay now shows the refund as completed, but I have not received the £316 in my bank account. Instead, another £316 was charged, so there are now two pending transactions of £316 each (£632 total) on my bank account. Both transactions still show as pending. Has anyone experienced this? How can I contact an eBay agent to resolve this?

Mentor3 weeks agoIt is a timing thing, you will not be charged twice and will be refunded.

Mentor3 weeks ago · EditedThis does sometimes happen , you will see one is actually pending and it will eventually disappear.
Just keep an eye on it that this does happen, otherwise you'll need to contact your bank they can see if 2 identical payments were actually charged.
Refunds are not automatic and do go back to original payment source.
If you paid with PayPal it goes back to your PayPal account fairly swiftly.
Paying with a debit / bank card? Can take up to 12 days to appear back in your bank account.
Credit card payment? This takes the longest, up to 30 days to appear back in the card account used.
