Refund For An Item Description Issue.
Summary: joosterlooster shared their experience of purchasing an item that was incorrectly described by a seller. The seller assured compatibility with their vehicle, but the item did not fit, and the seller is refusing a refund, claiming it was joosterlooster's fault. fargvs suggested opening a 'Not as described' return request on eBay and provided links for further assistance. papso22 advised choosing 'not as described' as the reason for the claim to avoid it being treated as a change of mind return, which can be refused.
Hi All,
I have just made a purchase of an item and before I purchase I asked the seller specifically if it would fit my vehicle. The response was "yes, should do". I purchased it on this information and it doesn't fit my model. The seller is refusing to give a refund and states it was my fault. Is Ebay able to help me? They can see in the questions prior to purchase that I made it clear what car, year and model I had.
Thanks

MentorAug 14, 2026 at 1:46 PMYou need to open a claim for 'not as described' not one using the reason 'does not fit'.
The latter counts as a change of mind return and can be refused by private accounts.
