I bought a watch for £5640 on 3rd May and agreed with the seller to return it - it was received by the seller using ebay returns on 11th May who has relisted it for sale.
I messaged the seller on the 13th to ask when I would receive a refund only for him to tell me he had not received payment and could not refund me.
I immediately panicked and started a dispute through paypal - the last few weeks have been a nightmare with both of them telling me to contact the other as once you open a PP dispute, ebay will not help anymore.
Countless calls to both and on the 28th May I spoke to a lady at ebay how told me that if I cancelled the PP dispute, ebay would remove the hold on funds in the sellers account and I would be refunded - so I cancelled the pp dispute and still no money back.
Yet again I called ebay just now and this guy told me that it is nothing to do with them, my money is with PP and as I cancelled the dispute with PP, the money will be with the seller and I am now not protected by either.
I'm sat here in tears cos I just don't know what to do anymore - the seller keeps telling me to contact ebay and I am on a hamster wheel of despair.
Someone out there has my large amount of money and after this morning, I see no way of getting it back as both call centres are useless
Can anyone help me please ??

Mentor2 months agoIf you used your credit or debit card with Paypal contact your card provider and ask about a chargeback.

Mentor2 months agoYou will just have to persist with Paypal. All these customer support departments are only as good as the person you get at the time. If you keep trying hopefully you will get someone who actually wants to help. It's also possible that the seller has the money and will end up doing the right thing. Best of luck.

Mentor2 months agoDo you have your bank account added to make direct payments from it via PayPal, or did you add your debit card?

PP have now provided evidence that they sent the released funds to ebay on 28th May when I cancelled the PP dispute but ebay are still saying they do not have the funds !!
