Refund confusion
Anyone know how I progress from here? I bought a shirt. It was too small. I looked to return it. The seller works through the Ebay money back guarentee system so he referred me to Ebay. They sent me a label to send it back and I did. I got the label on 1 november, sent it 3 November and it was returned on 7th November. So I waited the 2 weeks for the refund ( less postage)... Nothing. When Ebay asked me if I'd recevied the refund I told them NO. On 27th of November I received an Ebay message saying the issue was closed. I went to ask Ebay about my refund. The automated system told me the issue was closed. I went elsewhere and was told to contact the seller. I did that. He is under the impression that Ebay were refunding as he is part of the 'money back guarantee' scheme. I can't contact Ebay. There is no non automated system is there? The automatic system just keeps telling me the issue is closed. Do I go back to the seller? Have I missed a human email system somewhere I can discuss this with?

·8 months agoWhen you return an item to a seller, the seller is responsible for refunding you, not Ebay.
Once tracking shows the seller has the item back, they should refund you within 48 hours.
If they don't, you can go back to the case and ask Ebay to step in.
They then refund you from the seller's funds.
However, if you don't ask Ebay to step in, and the seller does not refund you voluntarily, after 21 days the case is closed in the seller's favour.
The process is automated and you, as the buyer, needed to be proactive.
The seller has not been honest - they were always liable to refund you. You clearly did not understand how the Money Back Guarantee works and they now have your returned item and your money.
There is nothing Ebay can do as you didn't follow the process that guarantees you a refund.
