Refund after 3 month period

Question

I purchased a pair of Sandals on 18/6, I've only started to wear them recently and now they are coming apart, as I'm just outside the return period the seller won't give me a refund or replacement...I'm I being unreasonable asking the company to refund me as a gesture of goodwill?

Return period is only 30 days so needed to be returned through ebay in July. Always check purchases and do not let them get over the 30 days.

A helpful seller could accept and refund up to 90 days, but you would have to pay for return and of course most sellers stick to the 30 days, although a charge back by payment provider does cost seller more as there is a fee to pay.

It's far too late to do anything about it via ebay but you can still contact your payment provider and ask them about a refund or chargeback.
