Receiving from abroad that is damaged, I paid custom's charges

Question

I bought a item from Germany that was £218.74 that was damaged and parts was missing, the item is no good as is, I plan to return the item, I cant see a problem returning, the issue I have is I had to pay custom charge of £75.42 To royal mail before they delivered the item, sending this back can I claim custom's charge back from the supplier
