Receiving eBay returns to my address
I’ve been receiving a number of eBay returns to my address for the last month, but addressed to somebody else. They all have an eBay returns label, so I’ve been able to drop them off at the post office as a ‘return to sender’.
But I’m worried that someone is using my address fraudulently.
I’ve been unable to contact eBay directly as it’s through their automated system.

OP5 months agoThe amount of mail that I'm receiving from multiple buyers goes beyond a mistake.
Someone has set up an account using my home address, so it is fraudulent.
Does anyone know of a way I can report this to eBay?

·5 months agoThe account is probably not using your home address generally but may be using it for returns.
Some overseas sellers use a randomly chosen UK address for returns rather than pay for labels back to the country of origin.
You are doing the right thing by sending items back via the carrier.
If you know the Ebay ID of the seller, you can report this to Ebay Customer Services.
Use the link and tell AI you need to speak to an agent - there is also a 'report a seller' link on there.

If you have purchased some recent items from eBay, checkout those sellers, they may just have posted to the wrong buyer.
Click on the seller's listings, then down the left sidebar click on Sold. If you find the item there, send that seller a message that you have received their item in error, for them to send you enough money to cover a fully tracked return postage to return the item back to them.
Do not be fobbed off with sending to the correct buyer, it goes back to the seller.
If this is not the case, and no one else in your household knows of this purchase, google Brushing Scam see if that applies here.
