Received Counterfeit Item

Question

I have received a counterfeit item, but there does seem to be a way of reporting it to get my money back. The only option is to return the item to the seller which doesn't seem right as the seller can just readvertise it. EBay should ban the seller as they are selling other counterfeit items. Is there anyway I can report the item received as counterfeit to ebay. Thanks J

Reporting to eBay does not work, as they do not see the item in question, and the complaint could even be coming from a competitor, hoping to damage a seller's account / reputation.

The correct process is to open a case for item not as described, and if the seller wants the item back you do have to send it back, but at the seller's expense.

Cases do work if too many are opened for refunds it raises those red flags to eBay who then can act with selling sanctions even complete bans from selling on their account.

Open the case now, ignore any seller's pleas to close the case early. escalate to eBay on day 4, if there is no refund, or return label sent.

You open a not as described case. Why don’t you read the money back guarantee, you do not get refunds by speaking to ebay.
