Received a fake Apple Watch. Seller claims I swapped it. Has anyone experienced this?
Summary: kalimera84 shared a frustrating experience after purchasing what was supposed to be an Apple Watch on eBay, but received a toy watch instead. The seller accused them of swapping the item, but kalimera84 had documented the unboxing with photos and opened a return case. **peaseblossom** and *vyolla* advised escalating the return case to eBay and ensuring the correct return reasons were specified. kalimera84 has declined a partial refund offer from the seller and is waiting for eBay to intervene, keeping the toy watch until then.
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for some advice because I'm really frustrated.
I purchased an Apple Watch on eBay. When the package arrived, I opened it and found a cheap toy watch instead of a genuine Apple Watch.
I immediately contacted the seller, but they are accusing me of replacing the watch myself, which is completely false.
Fortunately, I took photos while opening the package, and I also took photos of everything before submitting the return request. I have already opened a return case.
The most frustrating part is that I've been dealing with this for 10 days. I still don't have the Apple Watch I paid for, and I haven't received my money back either.
Has anyone experienced a situation like this? Did eBay side with you if you had photos of the unboxing? Is there anything else I should do to improve my chances?
Thank you for any advice.

OP3 months agoYes, I selected the "Doesn't match description or photos" option. The seller sent me an offer for a £1 partial refund, but I declined it because I paid £107 for the item. I'm now waiting for eBay to step in. I still have the toy watch and haven't returned it. I think I need to wait one more day. Thank you.

Mentor3 months agoHopefully you selected the "Doesn't match description or photos' reason for opening the return.
After the return has been open for 3 business days you'll see an option to ask eBay to step in, use that if your seller hasn't provided an eBay pre-paid returns label.

Mentor3 months agoYou need to escalate your return case to ebay to get a return label and then your money back once seller has the item. If you've done that you can contact ebay about it. You can ring them or request they ring you by viewing this link on your phone:
