Raising an invoice
My customer has asked for delivery of an item by special delivery which I'll need to add to the cost but eBay won't let me raise an invoice as "Invoices cannot be sent for items where eBay manages all or part of the postage. These items are excluded from this invoice." I'd previously asked my customer to wait for an invoice so it appears I am unable to charge for shipping even though it would be at his request.

OP1 week agoThanks for your advice. What an absurd infexible system! I have a lot of stuff on ebay at the moment where I've advised "wait for invoice" which means I'll have to go through a three ring circus every time!

Mentor1 week agoAre you advising buyers to wait for invoice because they are buying multiple items and you wish to later combine postage?
This is no longer possible with a revised invoice under Simple Delivery.
Best to add on your listings something like.... I'm happy to combine postage, for me to do so, please place all items into your basket first before paying, and then proceed to eBay checkout.

OP1 week agoOh why make it so complicated? I'll be looking for an alternative to eBay but much appreciate your response.

Mentor1 week agoYou won't be able to do that, if you want to send it RM Special Delivery you'll need to buy and pay for the label yourself, or cancel the order (after discussing it with the buyer) and relist it with a 24hr postage option.
