Purchased item with Klarna - unexpected massive delivery fee added
Summary: keekoopoo encountered an unexpected increase in delivery charges for an item purchased using Klarna via eBay, with the initial charge of £22.95 suddenly becoming £61.65 in Klarna's payment notification. A response from Klarna suggested the discrepancy originates from eBay's provided details. papso22 clarified that the charged amount should match the checkout price, suggesting the issue may lie with Klarna. keekoopoo provided the eBay item number for further investigation.
I purchased an item last month using klarna. The delivery was £22.95, and this price is listed on my invoice from ebay.
Upon opening an email from klarna about payment, it now lists the delivery as costing a whopping £61.65.
My issue is that no where along the purchasing process was this £61.65 visible, it was always clearly listed as £22.95.
I have posted on a klarna help page and they seem to suggest the fault lies with ebay as they suggest klarna simply uses the details provided by ebay.
How can I resolve this?

MentorSep 18, 2026 at 5:14 PMI do not see where Klarna comes into this, the cost by Royal Mail Special Delivery is obviously inappropriate, but it should be up to seller to sort out, you only pay what is on the Ad.

MentorSep 18, 2026 at 3:04 PMThe price you pay (via Klarna), can only be the price you saw at checkout and on the order confirmation. That is the price whatever the payment method. If Klarna have charged you more that is down to them.
