Purchase breaks
Can anyone advise me? I purchased a dashcam on 28th July 2025. Only in October did I notice that the rear camera had stopped working. I do not know when the camera stopped working.
I contacted the seller, asking to return the dashcam (bear in mind I had to have the dashcam fitted). I sent three messages with no reply, then they responded, explaining they had an emergency.
As awful as their plight was, I explained about the dash cam, and I asked for a full refund.
I was asked to accept a partial refund to find another rear camera, as they did not have one of that make. I did look for a rear camera, but you can only buy both
Am I within my rights to ask for a refund?

Mentor11 months agoIt's too late to do anything via ebay. They only allow 30 days for claims. But you are still in time to get a refund from your payment provider, depending on how you paid. So contact them and see what they say. If you used Paypal you should be able to open a claim direct with them.

Mentor11 months agoYou are now into general consumer rights territory, not the ebay money back guarantee. You will need to do your own research but I think goods are meant to last at least 6 months and if not, you get a full refund. The problem is that getting that refund is between you and the seller.
