Anyone else had problems with ebay?
I sold a £3k watch for £170 - someone got a bargain. Sent the buyer a fully functioning watch. He received it, wore it for a week, damaged it and requested a refund which ebay facilitated. This was sent to an address which i haven't lived at for 3 years. Despite many orders been delivered to my new address, ebay insist that my old address is current and tracking showed the parcel was delivered.
Parcel is not at my d address they say it got returned th sender
So now buyer has watch back and ebay are demanding that i pay the refund charge of £170 - so i'll be out of pocket with no return, where as buyer will have no spend and received a £3k watch
Ebay have reviewed the case and closed it - saying they have done nothing wrong and tough shit for me.
Ebay now ghosting me and refuse to answer emails or calls
I contacted the financial ombusman who wish to progress this case but can not do so until ebay send me a final response letter/e-mail to my complaint escalating the complaint to them, with a paragraph stating something as follows: “If you remain dissatisfied with our response, you have the right to refer to the Financial Ombudsman Service free of charge, but you must do so within 6 months of the date of this letter
Ebay refuse to do this - how can i get my watch, or compensation?
Ebay are also pursuing me for the refund payment and will progress this to a collection agency

Mentor1 month agoThere are 5 address areas to keep updated in your eBay account, one of them will be your returns address. If you don't update it, it will default to that on a returns label.
You can check/change address in your My Account>Addresses section.
As regards this current situation, I can't see a way forward here if there was an old address under Returns in your account. I can't see that you have a case with the Ombudsman, and eBay will pass then on to one of their debt collectors, then the bill will be higher because their fees will be added.

Mentor1 month agoYou do not explain how if buyer opened a return case, not as described, you would have had to supply the return label, so how could it have the wrong address?
